"On a daily basis I am inspired."
Name: Nicole
Position: Associate Director, Community Involvement
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Education: Bachelor of Science and MBA, DePaul University of Chicago; Philanthropy and Non-Profit Sector Graduate Certificate Program, Loyola University of Chicago
Joined Kraft in: 1996
What I do: Everyday I help Kraft serve as a resource to non-profit organizations around the world who want to improve the quality of life for communities in need. Whether it hunger-relief or healthy lifestyles, I help to direct Kraft's cash grants to organizations dedicated to addressing hunger and promoting the importance of physical activity and a balanced diet.
Kraft's community footprint is global, so our non-profit partners operate in communities from Oakland, California, to Melbourne, Australia. As a part of the process I help set strategy to ensure Kraft funds innovative programs that align with our business and help make a real difference.
Along the way I meet with passionate community leaders, review hundreds of funding proposals and launch new programs. As programs progress, I measure and evaluate program performance to ensure grant dollars are used efficiently and effectively.
Why I love my job: My job truly enables me to fulfill Kraft's vision of helping people around the world eat and live better. And on a daily basis I am inspired by the fortitude, tenacity, creativity and desire of communities around the world to lift themselves up -- for me nothing is more satisfying.
