Nabisco Encourages Sensible Snacking on Southwest Airlines

Debuts ‘Less-Taxing’ Options for Calorie-Counting Passengers on April 15

Dallas, TX (April 15, 2005) – Customers aboard Southwest Airlines flights will now be able to enjoy low-calorie, low-fat, portion-controlled, in-flight snacking thanks to the introduction of Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs from Kraft Foodservice. The new snacks, available to customers on long haul Southwest flights, will include two varieties of the popular Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs: Kraft Cheese Nips Thin Crisps available on flights April 15 and Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisps, available October 1.

Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs are a sensible snacking option and a satisfying treat for all consumers and are on-trend with consumer demand for portion-controlled, low-fat snack alternatives. Each Nabisco 100 Calorie Pack available on Southwest Airlines contains a pre-measured portion of 15 to 20 crisps, just two to three grams of fat, zero grams of trans-fat and no cholesterol. The thin crisps are specially baked for a great light and crispy taste.

"We’re thrilled to partner with Southwest Airlines in bringing customers their favorite snack brands in portion-controlled packs that take the guesswork out of calorie counting and support consumers’ long-term sensible eating goals," said Lance Friedmann, Kraft’s Senior Vice President, Global Health & Wellness.

"Southwest is committed to promoting the well-being of our customers in every way possible,” said Donna Conover, Southwest Executive Vice President of Customer Operations. "We know our customers love and trust these Kraft brands, and they will enjoy having portion-controlled snacking options available while traveling."
