More Than 70 New Kraft Products Featured At Annual Food Convention
NORTHFIELD, IL (May 1, 2005) – Delivering on its commitment to helping people around the world eat and live better, Kraft Foods Inc. (NYSE:KFT) will showcase more than 70 new food and beverage products that address important consumer needs, including health and wellness and convenience, at the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Supermarket Convention and Educational Exposition, May 1-3, 2005, in Chicago.
The focal point of Kraft’s 14,500 square-foot booth (#1637), the largest at FMI, will be the "Healthy Living" pavilion featuring a range of new health and wellness products from Kraft brands such as Back to Nature, Balance and Boca. Kraft also will debut its entire line of South Beach Diet food items, with more than 25 products such as frozen entrees, pizzas, cereals, cereal bars, wrap sandwich kits and meal replacement bars.
Visitors to the Kraft booth also will have the chance to experience the revolutionary Tassimo Hot Beverage System, which uses proprietary “smart” technology to deliver one-cup servings of coffeehouse beverages, such as cappuccino, espresso, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, at the touch of a button. Real liquid milk is used to make the cappuccino and latte drinks, without the use of a complicated steam wand. This first-of-its-kind, on-demand machine recently launched in France and will be available to consumers in North America beginning this fall.

Here is a sampling of the more than 70 innovative product introductions Kraft will spotlight at FMI:
- A.1. Teriyaki Steak Sauce - This sauce combines the authentic flavors of teriyaki with the bold flavor of A.1. for a new twist to an old favorite.
- Back to Nature Cereal, Granola, Dinners, Crackers, and Cookies - The Back to Nature line of wholesome food items has now expanded to include an Organic Shells & Cheese dinner free of hydrogenated oils; new Cinnamon and Honey Graham Sticks, a first in the natural/organic segment; new Organic Apple Cinnamon Harvest cereal made with orchard-ripened apples; as well as new crackers in Crispy Cheddars, Tomato Herb Rice Thins, Harvest Whole Wheats and Organic Stoneground Wheats.
- Balance Trail Mix Energy Bar - Looking for energy that lasts? This new convenient Balance Bar provides 14-15 grams of protein and 23 essential vitamins and minerals with three satisfying varieties, including Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon, Oats and Honey, and Fruit and Nut.
- Boca Meatless Chili - For the first time consumers now have a soy-based chili entrée that goes from the freezer to the microwave to the table in less than 5 minutes. With 90% less fat and 90 fewer calories than the leading meat chili, Boca Meatless Chili features Boca Ground Burger mixed with kidney and black beans, green peppers, onions, and a perfectly seasoned tomato-based sauce.
- Bull’s-Eye Sweet Homestyle Blend - A perfect blend of brown sugar, molasses and spices makes this sweet and savory BBQ sauce the perfect topping for meats or vegetables.
- California Pizza Kitchen Crispy Thin Crust - No reservations are required for the great new taste of California Pizza Kitchen’s restaurant-style thin crust pizza. It comes in three Neapolitan-influenced varieties, including the first nationally available "white" pizza featuring an olive oil base.
- Chewy Chips Ahoy! Snack ‘n Seal - This innovative new "peel back and re-close" packaging is just what you need to keep your cookies fresh tasting.
