Oreo Double Stuf Teams Up With Nascar For New Kind Of Race

"Official Cookie of NASCAR" and Driver Greg Biffle Invite America to Put Their Twisting, Licking and Dunking Skills to the Test for Grand Prize of $10,000

East Hanover , N.J. (Feb. 5, 2007) - Ready. Set. Lick! Oreo Double Stuf is teaming up with NASCAR for the first time on a major campaign to get consumers enjoying the classic Oreo and milk ritual in a more "racey" way. The Oreo Double Stuf Race invites families and friends to put their twisting, licking and dunking skills to the test and see who can finish an Oreo Double Stuf cookie and a single glass of milk the fastest.

NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver Greg Biffle will launch a national sweepstakes to find five Oreo Double Stuf fans who love to lick to win the chance to compete against each other at Homestead-Miami Speedway® in November for the grand prize of $10,000. Biffle will help officiate the final race. Individuals ages 7 and older can enter the sweepstakes at one of the traveling Oreo Double Stuf Race exhibits traveling the country during racing season or by visiting www.oreo.com for details.

"Oreo and milk is a ritual that transcends generations and it's exciting to see it become part of the NASCAR tradition," said Biffle. "The campaign is really cool and I hope people will get revved up about doing the Race."

Oreo and NASCAR

In addition to the sweepstakes, the Oreo and NASCAR partnership includes:

  • "Official Cookie of NASCAR" - NEW limited edition NASCAR Oreo Double Stuf cookies will be on shelves beginning this month and will feature 10 NASCAR-themed cookie designs some of which include NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers' numbers, such as Greg Biffle (16), Carl Edwards (99), Matt Kenseth (17), Jamie McMurray (26) and David Ragan (6). The cookies will have a suggested retail price of $3.89.
  • Biffle Takes the Wheel - Biffle will drive the specially-designed Oreo Double Stuf #26 Ford Fusion racecar in the season-opening Daytona 300 NASCAR Busch Series race on Feb. 17, 2007.
  • Biffle Gets "Creamed"On Air - A new 30-second TV ad began airing on Jan. 29 encouraging people to have a Double Stuf Race and "Ready. Set. Lick!" The ad, the brand's first NASCAR-themed commercial, shows Biffle pulling up in his racecar to visit one of his "oldest fans" at her retirement community and, instead of greeting him with hugs and kisses, she challenges him to an Oreo Double Stuf Race. After "creaming" Biffle she takes her own victory laps in his racecar to celebrate her win .

Twist, Lick and Dunk Your Way to Victory

There are two easy ways to enter for a chance to become one of the five finalists to compete in the Oreo Double Stuf race final competition at the Homestead-Miami Speedway® in November. First, the Oreo Double Stuf team will criss-cross the country throughout racing season, making pit stops at races and retailers to teach people how to do the race and invite them to enter the sweepstakes at the Oreo Double Stuf area of the pit stop. Second, consumers can visit www.oreo.com and enter online. While there, consumers can check out the step-by-step tutorial on how to have their own Double Stuf Race to become the fastest twister, licker, dunker! The sweepstakes runs from Feb. 5 through Sept. 24, 2007.

A Timeless Tradition

With its "twisting, licking, dunking" ritual, "Oreo and Milk" is a classic combination that has brought family and friends together for more than 90 years.
