Kraft Peanut Butter Helps ‘Spread the Feeling’ and Fight Hunger

July 16, 2008 – Over 10,000 hugs turned into 10,382 jars of peanut butter to help fight hunger as part of Kraft Peanut Butter’s campaign to “Spread the Feeling” and support Daily Bread Food Bank of Toronto, Canada.

At a recent event in Toronto, the Kraft Peanut Butter bears Smoothie and Crunchy gave out hugs. The brand donated one jar of peanut butter for each hug given, exceeding the 10,000-jar goal.

 
Milka Brings Alpine Indulgence to United Arab Emirates

July 14, 2008 – Consumers in United Arab Emirates are discovering tender Alpine milk chocolate and the famous lilac cow in their local stores for the first time. Milka chocolate, a long time favorite in Europe, has recently debuted in the country.

 
Humanitarian Aid Sent to Philippines to Support Typhoon Relief

July 10, 2008 – Kraft has contributed $35,000 to the International Federation of the Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies in support of relief efforts for those impacted by Typhoon Fengshen, locally named Frank, in the Philippines.

 
Aid Sent to Midwestern US, Ethiopia

July 3, 2008 – Kraft has made cash and in-kind contributions totaling $525,000 to support relief efforts for recent storms in the Midwestern US and the hunger and malnutrition crisis in Ethiopia.

Kraft Sends Aid for Iowa Storms

June 2, 2008 – Kraft has made an in-kind contribution valued at nearly $50,000 to American Red Cross in support of relief efforts for tornadoes that recently devastated Parkersburg, Iowa, US. Our donation will help feed hundreds of residents living in shelters.

Kraft Sends Aid to China, Myanmar, US

May 16, 2008 – Kraft has made a $150,000 donation to the International Federation of the Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies in response to the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck China’s Sichuan province. We also made an in-kind donation valued at $400,000 to the China Foundation of Poverty Alleviation. In addition, local employees responded to the disaster with donations that will be matched by Kraft in China.

We’ve pledged $50,000 to the World Food Programme to support relief efforts for survivors of the tropical cyclone that hit Myanmar in Southeast Asia.

And, we’ve made an in-kind contribution valued at $20,000 to American Red Cross for survivors of a series of storms and tornadoes that recently ripped through the US states of Georgia, Oklahoma and Missouri.

Kraft Donates $350,000 for US Hunger Relief on Network Morning Show

May 8, 2008 - More than 35 million people, including 13 million children in the United States, do not have access to enough food. To raise awareness, “The Early Show,” on CBS-TV, recently featured a series on the fight against hunger. The show highlighted Kraft’s donation of more than 75,000 pounds of food, valued at $100,000, to America’s Second Harvest, along with a $250,000 cash donation to help address this critical community need.

 

Humanitarian Aid Sent to Virginia, Arkansas, Haiti

May 8, 2008 - Kraft has made cash and in-kind contributions totaling more than $96,000 to support relief efforts for recent storms in Virginia and Arkansas, US. We’ve also contributed $25,000 to the International Federation of the Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies to help address the food crisis in Haiti

Kraft Sells Canned Food Business in Spain

March 13, 2008 – Kraft has reached an agreement to sell its canned food business in Spain, Carcesa (Carnes y Conservas Españolas, S.A.), consisting of canned meats and canned tomato products, to the Spanish food company Nueva Rumasa.

March 04, 2008 – The Tang brand recently earned two marketing awards – Best Brand Re-launch and Best Use of TV – in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The recognition comes from “Gulf Marketing Review” (GMR) magazine.  “Tang Quiz the Whiz Show” on the Asianet TV television network won the Best Use of TV award.  The re-launch award recognizes the success of reformulated Tang.

February 21, 2008 – Belgium is known as a nation of chocolate lovers. This year they have much to celebrate. Côte d’Or, the number one chocolate brand in Belgium, is 125 years old.

Your True Piece of Switzerland Turns 100

February 13, 2008 – In a kitchen in Bern, Switzerland, 100 years ago, candy maker Theodor Tobler and his cousin, Emil Baumann, were inspired to combine delicious nougat candy and smooth chocolate. You may have guessed the result – Toblerone chocolate was born. Since then, Toblerone has become a part of Swiss history. While the iconic brand in the triangle shape is enjoyed in more than 120 countries, it is produced only in Bern.

 

Kraft Named Official Sponsor of RecycleBank

February 12, 2008 – Kraft has signed on as the “Official Food Sponsor of RecycleBank,” a rewards program that motivates people to recycle. This partnership will help educate consumers about the importance of recycling and improve recycling rates.
